Nose and under-eye filler in Korea: what to check before treatment, risks and Gangnam prices
Quick answer: The nose and the under-eye area carry some of the highest vascular risk of any facial filler. What decides the outcome is technique and preparation, not the product name. Check four things yourself before treatment: genuine product, a known vessel map, hyaluronidase always on hand, and a doctor doing the injecting. They cannot bring the risk to zero, but they are the baseline for lowering it.
Why is nose filler considered high-risk?
Because in all three zones, from between the brows down the bridge to the tip, branches of the facial artery and the dorsal nasal artery (which connects to the ophthalmic artery supplying the eye) run close by. If filler goes into a vessel by mistake, the skin that vessel feeds can die, and rarely, blindness (loss of vision) or stroke has been reported. Among reported cases of filler-related blindness, the nose is the area most often involved. The probability is low. But when it happens, it is the kind of problem that is hard to reverse, so with the nose, safety comes before shape.
That is why injection technique comes before design with nose filler. The vessel anatomy is mapped in advance. We aspirate before injecting, but a negative aspiration does not prove the needle is outside a vessel, so the product goes in slowly, a little at a time, at low pressure. Not packing a large amount into one spot follows the same logic.
What should you check before under-eye filler?
First, whether the hollow really comes from lost volume. The skin here is thin and the venous network around the eye runs close to the surface, so the same product in the same amount can turn out very differently from person to person. In the four situations below, suitability comes first.
| Situation | Why it needs checking |
|---|---|
| Obvious under-eye fat bags | Adding filler can make the bulge stand out more |
| Very thin under-eye skin, or visible veins | Tyndall effect: filler may show through with a bluish tint |
| Filler from a previous treatment still present | Injecting on top of what remains can leave the sides uneven |
| Pigment-type dark circles | If melanin is the cause rather than lost volume, filling changes little |
I quite often tell people they are better off not doing the under-eyes. Some under-eyes improve when filled, and some just look more prominent. The line between them is clear.
What should you avoid before and after filler?
Before treatment
- If you take blood thinners such as aspirin or warfarin, tell us in advance.
- Stopping omega-3 and high-dose vitamin E 1 to 2 weeks before is recommended; they increase bleeding.
- If you have a history of cold sores (herpes), we discuss whether preventive medication is needed.
- During pregnancy or breastfeeding, timing is adjusted.
After treatment
- Skip hard exercise and alcohol on the day. They make swelling and bruising worse.
- Avoid hot saunas and jjimjilbang heat rooms for 4 weeks.
- Do not rub the area hard. The filler can move.
- Mild swelling under the eyes can last a few days and usually goes down on its own.
- Severe pain, skin turning pale or white, or any change in your vision: come back immediately. If your vision blurs or goes, call the clinic and go straight to the nearest emergency room. These three signs cannot wait, and that holds even if you are due at the airport.
Nose filler vs under-eye filler: what is the difference in what to weigh up?
Both are high vascular-risk areas, but the consultation weighs different things.
- Nose filler: the key is a safe injection path. Which layer and how slowly matter more than how much height you add, for both the result and the risk. Previous nose surgery or filler can change how the vessels run, so tell us beforehand.
- Under-eye filler: the key is whether it is indicated at all. Whether the main cause is hollowing, fat bags or pigment decides whether to fill. The thinner the skin, the more product choice and injection depth decide the result.
- Both: with a fixed date like a wedding, have it done 2 to 3 weeks ahead, because swelling and bruising need time to clear.
How can you tell if a filler clinic is safe?
Filler side effects come from technique more often than from the product itself. Ask these four things when choosing a clinic.
- Genuine product: is it approved by Korea's MFDS (KFDA), and will they show you the box and sticker?
- Vessel map: between the brows, the nose and the smile lines are classed as high-risk if a vessel is injured.
- Hyaluronidase on hand: can emergency dissolving be done on the spot?
- Doctor-performed: does the doctor inject personally?
At Repic Clinic in Gangnam, nose and under-eye filler use only MFDS (KFDA)-approved genuine hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronidase is always on hand. The doctor performs the injection personally. Who the doctors are and what they treat is on the about page.
How much is nose or under-eye filler in Gangnam? (September 2026)
Prices are from Repic Gangnam's September 2026 price list and exclude 10% VAT, which is added at payment. The same prices apply to Korean and international patients; the tax-refund scheme for cosmetic procedures is no longer available in Korea. The final figure depends on area and volume, and an exact quote follows diagnosis.
| Treatment | Product · volume | Price (per session, KRW) |
|---|---|---|
| Nose / aegyo-sal filler | Atière 1cc | 250,000 |
| Nose / aegyo-sal filler | Belotero or Restylane 1cc | 490,000 |
| Under-eye filler | Belotero 1cc | 350,000 |
| Under-eye filler | Restylane Eyelight 0.5cc | 700,000 |
Products differ in particle and viscosity, so different areas use different products. Thin areas like the under-eye take only very small amounts placed layer by layer, so the volume chosen is the quote. The full list is on the price list, and the consultation fee is deducted in full if you are treated the same day.
How we do it at Repic
Half of an under-eye consultation goes into deciding whether to inject at all. Mark-Vu measures pigment on photographs and Meta-Vu records contour and volume; the doctor assesses skin thickness and sorts the cause first: hollowing, fat bags, or pigment-type dark circles. Then product and volume are chosen, the doctor injects personally, and swelling and home care are explained. If leaving it unfilled is the better call, we say so. Consultations can be held in English.

Frequently asked questions
Can nose filler really cause blindness?
- Very rarely, but it has been reported. If filler enters a vessel and blocks blood flow, it can lead to skin necrosis and, rarely, blindness (loss of vision). So there are three safety standards: knowing the vessel map, injecting at low pressure and slow speed, and keeping hyaluronidase on hand at all times. Repic Clinic in Gangnam does nose filler to these standards.
Does under-eye filler look blue?
- If filler is placed too shallow under thin skin where veins show, it can look bluish because of the Tyndall effect. It does not happen in every case, and checking skin thickness before choosing the product and injection depth lowers the risk. If it already shows, dissolving it with hyaluronidase is an option.
Will under-eye filler get rid of dark circles?
- It depends on the cause. If the darkness is a shadow cast by a hollow under the eye, adding volume can improve it. Pigment-type dark circles, caused by melanin, change little with filler. At Repic Clinic in Gangnam, the type is identified before any treatment.
How much is under-eye filler in Korea?
- At Repic Clinic in Gangnam, under-eye filler is KRW 350,000 for Belotero 1cc and KRW 700,000 for Restylane Eyelight 0.5cc (September 2026, VAT excluded). Nose and aegyo-sal filler is KRW 250,000 for Atière 1cc. The final amount depends on the volume actually used, so the quote follows diagnosis.
Can filler be dissolved if I don't like it?
- Hyaluronic acid filler can be broken down with hyaluronidase. It is used in two situations: when the shape or symmetry is not right, and in a vascular emergency. That is why whether a clinic keeps it on hand is a selection criterion. When to re-treat after dissolving depends on the area and its condition.
Can I get botox and filler on the same day?
- The same day is possible. In the same area, though, the filler may spread differently, so botox first and filler 7 to 14 days later gives a more predictable result. If you only have one day, the areas are split in the plan. The order and gap are confirmed at consultation with the doctor at Repic Clinic in Gangnam.
