Mouth-corner and nose botox in Korea: how it works, what it costs in Gangnam, what to watch
Quick answer: Downturned mouth corners, or nostrils that flare wide when you smile, usually come from muscle pull rather than bone. In that case a small dose of botox placed only in that muscle is the fix. At Repic Clinic in Gangnam, mouth-corner and nose botox starts at KRW 25,000 with a domestic toxin (September 2026, VAT excluded). It shows in 3 to 7 days and lasts 3 to 6 months.
Who is mouth-corner or nose botox right for?
Two groups: people whose mouth corners look pulled down even with a relaxed face, and people whose nostrils spread noticeably when they smile. It also fits if only one corner sits lower and the face looks uneven, or if people keep asking whether you are annoyed. Some people it does not suit. If the corners droop because cheek volume has dropped, botox will not solve it, and filler or lifting comes first.
A fair number of people who come in about their mouth corners have perfectly normal muscles. The cheek has dropped. I make that call first, which is why the diagnosis takes longer than the injection.
Which muscle does mouth-corner botox work on?
The depressor anguli oris (DAO), the muscle that pulls the corners of the mouth down. Botulinum toxin temporarily reduces acetylcholine release where nerve meets muscle, so the muscle contracts less forcefully. Loosen the string pulling the corner down, and the muscles lifting it from the other side win out; the corners read as naturally lifted. It is a very small area. So the dose is everything. Too much can slur your speech or make closing your mouth feel odd, so the plan starts with a small amount based on muscle size and the difference between the two sides.
Does nose botox make your nose smaller?
It does not shrink the nostrils themselves. It reduces how much they flare when you smile. A small amount goes around the nasalis and the levator labii superioris alaeque nasi to calm the excess spread. And if your nostrils are wide even at rest? Then botox does little, and I do not recommend it. Width at rest is about cartilage and skin, not muscle.
Can you get mouth-corner botox and lip filler together?
The same day is possible, but botox first and filler 7 to 14 days later is the order I recommend. The two do different jobs. Botox releases the muscle pull; filler adds volume. Shaping the lips after the muscle has relaxed lets the amount and placement of filler be set precisely, and the result is easier to predict. On a tight schedule, both can be done one after the other on the same day. At Repic this is offered as a set: Atière 1cc lip filler plus mouth-corner botox, KRW 190,000 (VAT excluded).
How much is mouth-corner or nose botox in Korea? (September 2026)
Prices are from Repic Gangnam's September 2026 price list and exclude 10% VAT, which is added at payment. The same prices apply to Korean and international patients; the tax-refund scheme for cosmetic procedures is no longer available in Korea. The final figure depends on area and dose, and an exact quote follows diagnosis.
| Special-area botox (mouth corners, nose, per session) | Domestic | Coretox | Xeomin | Allergan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price (KRW, VAT excluded) | 25,000 | 45,000 | 130,000 | 210,000 |
The price climbs from the domestic toxin up to Allergan, but onset and duration barely differ. If it is your first time, the domestic product is enough to start with; if a particular brand has worked well for you, staying with it is the easy choice.

Every price is on the price list as it stands, and the consultation fee is deducted in full if you are treated the same day.
What should you avoid before and after botox?
Before treatment, tell us if you take blood thinners such as aspirin or omega-3. Pregnancy, breastfeeding or a neuromuscular condition usually rules treatment out. For 4 hours afterwards, do not rub the area or lie down, and skip saunas and exercise that day. The effect shows from 3 to 7 days, is complete at 2 weeks and lasts 3 to 6 months. Bruising or swelling, temporary asymmetry, or a slightly odd expression from over-correction can occur, though rarely. If anything is still there after 2 weeks, come back and have it checked. If you are visiting Seoul and will be home by then, keep a note of the brand and units you received so any doctor can see exactly what was done.
How we do it at Repic
Mouth corners and nostrils are areas where one or two units change the result, so the time goes into planning rather than injecting. We photograph three expressions (relaxed, a smile, a full laugh) to check the difference between the left and right muscles. Mark-Vu records the skin surface and Meta-Vu the facial contour, and the doctor judges whether it is a sagging cheek or a muscle problem. Then brand and dose are chosen and the doctor injects personally. The 2-week check point and home care are explained in the same visit, and the consultation can be held in English.

Frequently asked questions
How long does mouth-corner botox take to work?
- The downward pull on the corners starts to ease 3 to 7 days after injection, and the final shape settles at 2 weeks. It lasts 3 to 6 months, varying with muscle mass and metabolism. Repic Clinic in Gangnam tells you when the 2-week check falls at the time of treatment.
Will lip corner botox affect my speech?
- At the right dose, speech and closing the mouth are barely affected. Problems almost always come from too much product, so the rule is to start small, based on muscle size and the difference between sides. If something does feel odd, it is temporary and settles as the toxin breaks down.
Does nose botox make your nose smaller?
- The nose and nostrils stay the same size. The treatment reduces how far the nostrils spread sideways when you smile, which tidies up the smiling face. If they are wide even at rest, that is cartilage and skin, botox helps little, and the doctor at Repic Clinic in Gangnam will talk you through other options.
How much does mouth-corner botox cost in Korea?
- At Repic Clinic in Gangnam, special-area botox for the mouth corners or nose is KRW 25,000 domestic, KRW 45,000 Coretox, KRW 130,000 Xeomin and KRW 210,000 Allergan (September 2026, VAT excluded). Prices differ by brand, but onset and duration are similar.
Can I get lip filler and mouth-corner botox on the same day?
- Yes, one after the other. Doing botox first and filler 7 to 14 days later means the lips are shaped with the muscle already relaxed, so the result is more predictable. Repic Clinic in Gangnam offers Atière 1cc lip filler with mouth-corner botox as a set for KRW 190,000 (VAT excluded).
What are the side effects of mouth-corner botox?
- Bruising or swelling at the injection point, temporary asymmetry, or a slightly odd expression from over-correction can happen, though rarely. Most settle within a few days to 2 weeks, and everything returns to baseline once the toxin wears off. Treatment is usually not possible during pregnancy or breastfeeding or with a neuromuscular condition, so mention these at consultation.
