REPIC Clinic Gangnam · Botox

Hitox, Coretox, Allergan Botox or Xeomin — which toxin can I choose at a clinic in Seoul, and how is the product confirmed?

REPIC Clinic Gangnam in Seoul offers every Botox treatment with a choice of four toxins — two Korean products, Hitox and the low-molecular-weight Coretox, and two imported originals, Allergan Botox and the low-molecular-weight Xeomin — and the doctor decides the product and dose with you at the consultation.

All are type A botulinum toxin preparations that differ by manufacturer and purification, so the same dose does not necessarily give identical results; for imported products, the vial is opened in front of you so you can confirm the product and dose.

At a glance

  • Korean: Hitox (standard) and Coretox (low-molecular-weight); imported: Allergan Botox (original) and Xeomin (low-molecular-weight)
  • Low-molecular-weight toxins (Coretox, Xeomin) are made without complexing proteins; Allergan Botox (USA) has a long track record
  • Imported vials are opened in front of the patient so the product and dose can be confirmed
  • Treatments: wrinkle Botox (1 or 3 areas), jaw, salivary gland, skin Botox, specialized areas, scalp, body and hyperhidrosis Botox
  • Wrinkle and jaw Botox take about 10 minutes; skin Botox about 15 minutes
  • Consultations and treatments are carried out by the doctors themselves
  • Interpreters on site: English, Chinese and Japanese; Arabic, Spanish, Russian and other languages if you book at least one week ahead (a separate booking fee may apply)
  • Location: 318 Gangnam-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (B1 & 2F) — about a 7-minute walk from Gangnam Station Exit 4; the nearest bus stop is "Raemian Apt. · Financial News" on the Gangnam-daero median bus lane
  • Payment: overseas credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, UnionPay and others), Alipay and WeChat Pay

How the options differ

Every option is a type A botulinum toxin, but they differ by manufacturer and purification. REPIC groups them into four: a Korean standard toxin (Hitox, made by BMI Korea), a Korean low-molecular-weight toxin (Coretox), the imported original (Allergan Botox, USA) and an imported low-molecular-weight toxin (Xeomin, made by Merz in Germany). Low-molecular-weight toxins are formulated without complexing proteins. The Korean products are licensed by Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). Our treatment pages describe these differences rather than ranking one product above another.

Products also differ in unit strength. A given number of units in one product is not automatically equivalent to the same number in another, which is why the doctor chooses the dose together with the product rather than separately.

Confirming what you receive

For imported products such as Xeomin or Allergan, the vial is opened in front of you so the product and dose can be confirmed together, and you can see the label and packaging. Before any Botox treatment the doctor also checks safety items: pregnancy or breastfeeding, neuromuscular conditions, allergies to botulinum toxin, blood-thinning medication and certain antibiotics.

For skin Botox — very diluted toxin placed in tiny droplets in the surface layer to refine oil, pores and texture — the dose is the total volume of diluted solution, which is measured differently from the units used for wrinkle or jaw Botox.

Choosing on a short visit

Wrinkle and jaw Botox take about 10 minutes and skin Botox about 15 minutes, with minimal downtime, so they fit easily into a trip. Results appear gradually: wrinkle Botox usually begins within a few days and reaches its fuller effect around two weeks, and jaw Botox settles over 2–4 weeks. For 3–4 days, avoid saunas, hot baths and vigorous exercise.

Prices for each toxin option are posted in English on our website; listed prices exclude 10% VAT, and the same prices apply to Korean and international patients. If you have used a particular product before, tell the doctor which one and how it worked for you.

How to book

  4. Follow the aftercare advice and avoid heat and strenuous exercise for 3–4 days.

Frequently asked questions

Is imported Botox better than the Korean toxin?
They differ by manufacturer, purification and unit strength rather than being ranked against each other. The doctor helps you choose at the consultation.
How can I be sure which product is used?
For imported products such as Xeomin or Allergan, the vial is opened in front of you so you can confirm the product and dose.
Will my face look frozen?
Doses are divided across each area based on the muscles and your expression habits, aiming for natural movement. Results vary by individual.
How long does wrinkle Botox last?
Generally around 3 to 4 months, varying by individual. As muscle activity returns, the lines gradually return as well.
Who should not have Botox?
Treatment may be restricted during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with neuromuscular disorders, or with infection in the area. Tell the doctor about allergies and medications.
