Juvelook vs Rejuran in Korea: which collagen booster should you get?

Written by Dr. Jay (Yongheon Ha) · Doctor, Repic Clinic

Quick answer: Juvelook gets your skin to build new collagen; Rejuran repairs damaged skin. Neither is a one-off treatment; both usually run as a three-session course. At Repic Clinic in Gangnam, we look at your assessment first and then decide which one to use, or in what order to use both.

What is the difference between Juvelook and Rejuran?

They ask your skin to do different jobs. Juvelook makes it build something new. Rejuran makes it fix what is already there. They sit in the same "skin booster" box on price lists, but they do not work the same way.

Put simply, Juvelook calls in the builders and Rejuran swaps out worn bricks. You can use both. You just have to decide the order.

Why do collagen boosters take weeks to show results?

Because the body produces the result, not the syringe. Filler shows its shape the moment it goes in. A collagen booster asks your fibroblasts to make something new, and that work takes time.

That is also why Juvelook is the slower of the two. While the PDLLA particles remain in the dermis and break down, they keep signalling for collagen, so firmness improves throughout the course and a little more after the last session. Rejuran refines texture first, within weeks. Repair is a shorter job than new construction.

So why not just get filler? Filler solves a volume problem. If the issue comes from thin, rough skin, filling underneath only inflates a creased surface.

How many sessions, and how far apart?

Plan on about three sessions of either, with Rejuran spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart and Juvelook 4 weeks or more.

  • Juvelook (PDLLA): about 3 sessions, usually 4 weeks or more apart. After the last one, we look at the collagen response and plan maintenance.
  • Rejuran (PN): 3 sessions, 2 to 4 weeks apart, then maintenance every few months. Details are in our Rejuran guide.

I pay particular attention to spacing. Book sessions too close together and you are paying to re-inject skin that has not finished responding. If you are flying in for treatment, that spacing matters when you plan return visits.

Which one fits my concern?

Start from the concern. The product name comes after.

  • Firmness is dropping and pores are visible: Juvelook Skin (PDLLA).
  • Loss of firmness plus hollowing at the cheeks or temples: Juvelook Volume. Instead of inflating like filler, it fills in gradually and firmly.
  • Texture, fine lines under the eyes, thin and dry skin: Rejuran.
  • Sagging: none of these three will fix it. That is Ultherapy or Thermage territory; boosters then refine skin quality afterwards.

"Which is better?" is the wrong question. Most people disappointed by a booster had a mismatch between concern and product. They wanted glow and got PDLLA, or the real problem was sagging and they got PN.

Combining is common and sensible. A frequent sequence is shaping the contour with a lifting device, then improving texture with Rejuran or Juvelook a few weeks later. The order comes from the assessment.

How we plan it at Repic

We do not pick a booster first and then look for reasons. Mark-Vu measures pores, pigment, redness, oil and hydration, and the doctor assesses firmness in person during the consultation. Together, that shows whether the problem right now is firmness or texture. From there it becomes clear whether you need PDLLA, PN, or both in a particular order. The doctor injects personally, and afterwards home care is matched to your assessment, because newly built collagen is easily worn down by UV and dryness.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Juvelook and Rejuran?

Juvelook uses PDLLA particles to prompt new collagen production, so it suits firmness and pores. Rejuran uses salmon DNA (PN) to support skin repair, so it suits texture, fine lines and the under-eye area. If you have both concerns, they can be sequenced in one plan. Repic Clinic in Gangnam decides which comes first after assessment.

When do Juvelook results show?

Gradually, over several weeks. Your body has to build collagen around the PDLLA particles, so firmness improves throughout the course and a little more after the final session. Rejuran shows texture changes first, within weeks. It is best to judge Juvelook after completing all three sessions.

What is the difference between Juvelook Skin and Juvelook Volume?

Both are PDLLA. Skin is the standard formulation for improving texture, pores and firmness across the face. Volume has a higher PDLLA content and is used where there is hollowing, such as the cheeks or temples. It fills in gradually rather than instantly like filler. At Repic Clinic in Gangnam, Volume 4cc costs KRW 450,000 (VAT excluded).

Can I go out or fly right after Juvelook or Rejuran?

You can, but there will be marks. As injectables, they leave small bumps, redness and occasionally bruising for 1 to 3 days; the raised points are a normal reaction. If you have an important event or photos before your flight home, leave 3 to 4 days and do not rub the area until the bumps settle.

Can I get Juvelook and Rejuran together?

If the goals differ, yes. Rather than injecting both on the same day, I recommend running the PDLLA and PN courses a few weeks apart. At Repic Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, the doctor sets the order after assessing your skin, and plans the sessions around the dates you can be in Korea.
